Key Responsibilities
Drive Regional Sales: Proactively sell Empire Welding product lines across BC, AB, SK, and MB.
Strategic Travel: Maintain a high-frequency travel schedule to meet clients face-to-face and understand their unique operational needs.
Consultative Selling: Clearly explain technical features, durability, and ROI, guiding clients from inquiry to close.
Territory Management: Use North Battleford as your hub to efficiently manage travel logistics and a growing sales pipeline.
Relationship Growth: Service an existing client portfolio while aggressively identifying new market opportunities.
Field Feedback: Act as the "eyes and ears" for our North Battleford team, providing market insights to help us stay ahead of industry needs.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team. This role is critical in managing our financial health, focusing on cost accounting, inventory accuracy, and leveraging our ERP system to drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between production floor activities and financial reporting, ensuring that our manufacturing costs are captured accurately and timely.

Key Responsibilities

• Cost Accounting & Analysis: Maintain and update standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead. Analyze variances between actual production costs and standards.

• ERP Management: Serve as a key user for the ERP system, ensuring financial data integrity, troubleshooting system issues, and identifying opportunities for process automation.

• Inventory Oversight: Lead month-end inventory reconciliations and assist with cycle counting programs. Analyze obsolescence and slow-moving stock.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, focusing on Gross Margin analysis and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports.

• Process Improvement: Partner with the production and machining teams to streamline workflows and improve data capture from the shop floor.

• Compliance & Audit: Assist with year-end audits and ensure all manufacturing tax credits or provincial compliance requirements are met.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience specifically within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Systems Expertise: Proven experience working extensively with ERP software (e.g., JobBOSS, Global Shop Solutions, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics).

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional designation (CPA) is considered a strong asset.

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).

• Analytical Mindset: Ability to translate complex production data into actionable financial insights.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Execute High-Quality Welds: Perform structural welding on a variety of steel components using processes such as GMAW (MIG) and FCAW.

• Maintain Precision: Interpret blueprints and technical specifications to ensure every fixture, bracket, and assembly is fabricated to exact tolerances.

• Collaborate for Quality: Work closely with our machining and engineering departments to troubleshoot fit-ups and improve production efficiency.

• Uphold Safety & Standards: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace, ensuring all work meets our "quality-first" company mindset.

• Support Production Goals: Efficiently manage your workflow to ensure projects move from fabrication to delivery on time and to spec.
